Beautiful resort! Wonderful service with a lovely view of the harbor.

Staff overall were very friendly and tried to be helpful. Rooms were clean and spacious. Lovely property situated on the water and convenient access to the water taxi (nice experience). I traveled with my family the first week of July 2025. Overall, this resort is an average hotel. There is no breakfast at the hotel, but food is available at a sit-down more formal restaurant next door. One coffee machine is in the lobby and there was a rather long line each morning. On July 4, we had to choose the restaurant (good food but expensive) since the parking lot was full, and we did not want to move the car and have nowhere to park upon our return. Also, on July 4, the pool area was full and there were no available lounge chairs. I had to ask the manager to find us one chair for our family of four, and he brought out two chairs and pushed the chairs right next to the already cramped other chairs of other guests. After speaking all week with guests at the pool, we learned that some people at the pool were locals (unsure if they paid any day fee or not) not staying at the hotel. But we realized that anyone could enter the front door of the hotel and walk a short distance to the back door which drops you off at the main pool. There is no reception desk in the lobby (there are two desks, sometimes unmanned, in a room off the lobby), no one at the back door or the pool area checking people entering the pool. Therefore, the main pool area is a combination of paying guests from two hotels on the property, guests of the guests at the hotel, and local people living in Charleston. Paying guests staying at the hotel do not have any pool area priority. Since I paid for two rooms for 6 nights, I only expected lounge chairs and a parking space each of the days we were guests. Also, I thought parking and lounge chairs were my only issue, however, there was a rather large security situation in the early afternoon that occurred. There was a punching, hair-pulling, screaming fight between two women in the pool inches away from me and many other guests (families with small kids). We had to vacate the pool asap and watch as other guests in the pool separated the women. I am sure this situation never occurred at the hotel before, but it does question what the security is like at the hotel since guests were telling the 8 police that the verbal confrontation was occurring for hours before the fight. It caused my family to look over our shoulder for the rest of the evening as we walked around the hotel. I did email the management who told me that the person in question in the fight and their guests left the hotel. Anyway, for how much we paid for two rooms, our expectations of a family-friendly resort were not met at this property.

The beds were comfortable; however, noise from loud neighbors was disruptive to relaxation. The shower water pressure was the poorest we have experienced. Overall, the property grounds were attractive, and the location was ideal for visiting Charleston.
